HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
Maybe when we are all speaking and typing Hebrew then we will not have these embarrassing type-o's? HAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
i am sure this topic has probably been discussed many times before but,......... i would like reassurance that i am not the only one who gagged every time i heard a jw pontificating on their fantasy version of what "paradise" will be like.
particularly when it comes to the animals.
more specifically, that the animals will all become vegetarians.

besides having to sit through endless boring meetings during the evenings when they should be in bed getting their necessary rest for school the next day, they are falling asleep in the chairs with their little heads falling over.
then all their fun is taken away by such a strict religion and a desert god which makes them grow up with no self esteem whatsoever.
they tell them they're all sinners from the womb up and only a rod will remove it.
As a father of young children I was often appalled at the topics discussed at the meetings that were far too sexually explicit or violent for small children to be hearing.
As the father of a young daughter, I became increasingly concerned about her being indoctrinated into the mindset that she was a second class citizen as a female and that she must relinquish her own brain (That her mother and I have worked so hard on developing and instilling wonder, brilliance, independence into.) over to various groups of men to make her decisions for her and then eventually marry a man that thinks he can do the same thing. We are traditional in how we see our roles as husband and wife and we believe there are natural positions that healthy and socially normal people flow into. But I certainly do not want my daughter learning the WTBT$ version of "headship" and a "woman's place". F YOU!!!
when i was still attending i almost single handedly took care of the outside grounds.
i actually enjoyed it - gardening being a hobby.
but i turned in the keys to the shed about three months before i made my official exit.. .
Hilarious!!!!

Jeez! Please excuse my type-o's in my last entry above. Too late to edit them.
is it a feeling of---oh no!!?.
are you happy to see them?.
do you have a feeling of consternation?.
When I see the JW's set up in public places with the literature stands.......... I get extremely embarrassed and avoid them. (I recently saw two JW's standing next to their literature carts outside the restrooms of an interstate public rest area. Is this considered "good territory"?)
When I see JW's out in public that I have known from other congregations or the circuit or from earlier in my life and they are not or never were a friend of mine...... I avoid them.
(This just happened the other day) When I see a a normal well-dressed, well-behaved, happy, apparently loving, nuclear JW family come into the Starbucks I am in on a Saturday morning and they are taking their field service break.......... I get an overwhelming feeling of sadness. That sadness is hard to explain. When I saw them and watched them I recognized the good that being a good, clean, respectful family can be. The parents attentive to the children. The children bubbling with excitement for their donut that is coming. Their contentment and normalcy felt good to see. But the smile it brought to my face quickly turned to a feeling of dread. Dread because I know this happy little family is not going to stay that way. When the young kids hit their teens this family will most likely be blown apart like a bomb was set inside of it. They will never be the same. Never be whole again. That makes me incredibly sad.
question: can any of you that have successfully faded out of the jw world without being df'd or da'd relate to me/us how you were able to maintain at least one or a few of your "still in" friends or family?
(and even if you were df'd or da'd and still maintained some relationships, how did that go?).
obviously, the truly demented, sick and twisted (and highly effective) policies and structure of the wtbt$ to set up a system by which anyone that chooses to no longer believe or participate must be treated as "mentally diseased" and a pariah by their own friends and family is the hands down, numero uno reason why many hundreds of thousands and possibly millions of jw's do not leave.
Thank you, Phizzy. I can understand what you said. Particularly the part about wanting to prevent your lovely grandchildren from being treated as less than by your JW relatives. That is totally unacceptable. I too have just a few relatives that I am worried about maintaining a relationship with. The rest are either self-righteous A-holes, hypocrites or total losers that I would not associate with in any lifetime. It is my good, lifelong friends that I am most concerned with losing. There is already unspoken "distance" that has built up the last several years. With the exception of possibly a handful, I expect I will end up losing all of them.
What makes me angry and sad at the same time is that I never did or would do that to a true friend of mine.

Stillin- You and I agree completely!!!
I believe in God. If I believe in God then I have to believe that He has some sort of plan to repair this mess than humans have made on earth. Something. I am just no arrogant enough to claim to know exactly what that is. Nor am I willing to be manipulated by people who think they do.

I would love to hear some success stories from all of you that have been able to get through this and maintain some of your family and possibly even a few good friends. Real friends.
during my last meeting i was approached to see if i would be willing to switch to the electronic version of the km/watchtower.
i thought to myself "i'm way ahead of you here, buddy.
been doing it for almost a year.
Ahhhhh yessss............ "Headship". It really should be called "Dickheadship" because the ones that have to talk about headship all the time actually have none.

Marmot- did you not consider the amount of chaffing that the poor kid would get to his "taint" from riding an alligator for that long? That is unless, of course, in the paradise the alligator's skin becomes soft like a Nerf Ball.
